With so many demands on today’s families, parents need all the support they can get.  That’s why child care at the Lake County YMCA is about more than looking after kids.  It’s about nurturing their development by providing a safe place to learn, developing healthy, trusting relationships and building self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The Central YMCA offers safe, flexible, affordable and convenient preschool and after-school child care. Our programs are STAR rated and licensed by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

  • LOCATION: Central YMCA, 933 Mentor Avenue, Painesville
  • HOURS: Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 5:00pm 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

  • Registration Fee (Nonrefundable): $25 per child 
    • NOTE: Please complete the YMCA and ODJFS registration forms located below or pick up copies from the Central YMCA during business hours
    • Payment for child care programs is due the Friday before each week of care
    • Financial assistance is available based on need. Please contact the Child Care Director for more information
    • IMPORTANT: Full time care is available and all children must be toilet-trained to enroll.

LOCATIONS: 

PAINESVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT:

  • Chestnut Elementary, Elm Elementary and Maple Elementary

    *Students from Elm are bused to Maple for after school care.

HOURS:  

  • Morning: Monday - Friday from 6:30 am until school starts
  • Afternoon: Monday - Friday from end of school until 6:00 pm
  • Not available on scheduled/unscheduled days off.  See "School Day Off Care" section below.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Available for closures AND scheduled/unscheduled school days off. Whether it's a snow day or a holiday, you can be sure your child(ren) will be safe and engaged at the Y!  The Central YMCA is here to support you by offering a full day of supervised fun and planned activities include arts and crafts, games, sports, swimming (when available) and more.  

 
LOCATION: Central YMCA 933 Mentor Avenue, Painesville
AGES: Kindergarten - 12 years old
HOURS: 7:00am - 6:00pm (Don't forget to pack a lunch, swimsuit and towel)

FEES:

  • Members:  $40 / $5 Extended Care
  • Non-Members: $60 / $10 Extended Care
  • *IMPORTANT: Extended Care is NOT available on snow days
